Your Child Can Graduate and Begin an Apprenticeship or Go to College

Dual Credit courses provide senior secondary students with the opportunity to earn both college and high school credits at the same time.  The program is aimed at students who are behind in their credit accumulation and are interested in College or apprenticeship programs after completing secondary school.

What is the Program

Dual credit programs are intended to support eligible secondary school students in Ontario, including Indigenous students, French-language students, and students in rural and northern communities, in completing their OSSD and making a successful transition to a college and/or apprenticeship program.

How Does it Work

Students enrolled in high school can apply a maximum of four elective credits through college-delivered dual credit programming toward their OSSD. Ask to speak to your high school Guidance Counsellor for an application.

What are the Logistics

Dual Credit is a tuition free program with no additional costs. All courses, textbooks and transportation is paid for by two provincial ministries. Dual Credit courses are offered through local colleges. Applications are through the high school Guidance Counsellor.
